Despite there only being two showers, I never had to wait. As a child of the beach, I had no problem with the outside showers - they keep the sand outside the house. Simplicity is the key principle before you set your expectations for this lodging option. The lodging is a spartan reflection of old Rehoboth attached to the back of a small residence with a wrap-around porch that serves as a platform for people-watching and interacting with the proprietor, who was lovely and inspiring for her energy and commitment to hospitality and high standards despite what I suspect is an advanced age. The rooms are small, beds are for one person, bathrooms are shared, the shower is outside, and wifi is not part of the deal. Holly Haven is over a hundred years old, and it is well-maintained by a proprietor with exacting standards. If you aren’t used to sharing a bathroom or outdoor showers, Id say give it a try. NO wifi/TV, and small refrigerator in room. The whole property is covered in planters and lovely decor with books and magazines for all to enjoy. There is coffee and tea in the morning with actual mugs and condiments for coffee/tea and a beautiful wrap around porch with rocking chairs to enjoy your mornings. There are locking doors on the showers of course and towels and wash cloths are provided. Things you should know: this is a Bed and Breakfast type place (no breakfast served though), you share a bathroom (toilet and and sink) with the other rooms on your floor, and your showers are ALL outdoors. ![]() Located just about a block off the beach and boardwalk, its perfect for anyone who is on a budget but still wants to walk everywhere. If you want friendly service and an at-home atmosphere, look no further! The owner is a beautiful soul she is friendly, accommodating and does her best to help you feel the most at home. Haide is a great conversationalist and has many stories and has loads of history to share from over 30 years as the owner of this historical rooming house in beautiful Rehoboth Beach.… If you're looking for an authentic, simple, low-key beach holiday, Holly Haven is the perfect location. I've never stayed there but it sounds like it would be perfect for a family. There's also an apartment with bedrooms, kitchen, living room and bathrooms. You're only a few houses away from the boardwalk. Enjoy the company of the other guests using the the high back rocking chairs and take in the ocean breeze. The tables and chairs on the wraparound porch are the perfect spot to enjoy your carry-out. A backyard picnic table and clothesline for your wet bathing suits and towels adds to the charm of this lovely beach retreat. There's also a hose for rinsing the salt and sand from your beach gear and an enclosed garage to store your bicycles. The two outdoor showers are such a treat for me. A shared bathroom on each floor is just the right size for a quick face washing and brushing your teeth. The window air conditioner and ceiling fan cools your room quickly for an excellent night's sleep on those hot and humid evenings. The mini microwave and dorm fridge in each room are perfect for keeping a few snacks/drinks and reheating leftovers. On-site parking is free! A HUGE bonus and great time/money saver. The house, common areas, rooms and landscaping are impeccably maintained ~ just as I remembered. I was welcomed by Haide as if no time had passed. I visited Holly Haven many times prior to 2013.
